Life in Poutama

Poutama Teachers

Mrs McCallum

Kia Ora, my name is Selina McCallum

I am excited to be the Team Leader of Poutama this year. I am an experienced teacher and have taught all age groups, most recently year 5&6 students. I have two daughters - Ella who is 11 and at Monrad Intermediate, and Macy who is 9 and at Riverdale School. My husband, Matt, is the Principal at Monrad Intermediate. I grew up in Whakatane and have lived in Palmerston North since finishing University. I love spending time with my family, jet skiing and spending time at the beach or lake. I love all sports and have a passion for art and being creative. I look forward to meeting you all. Please come in and say hi.

Mrs Cameron

Hi, my name is Lauren Cameron and I am really excited to have joined Riverdale School this year. I am looking forward
to having the opportunity to get to know the school community and watch all the children within Poutama shine.
I have recently moved back to NZ with my family after teaching overseas. I have 3 children: Henry is 8; Isabel is 6 and Gabrielle is 3. I am passionate about bringing out the best in our students and I thrive on seeing all children achieve.
I feel very privileged to be a part of such a wonderful group of hard working, committed and caring teachers. Please feel free to pop in and say hi.

INDEPENDENCE LICENCE LEVELS
NGA MATAPONO & TE AKO RITENGA

We believe the future holds an exciting challenge for our students. The learning environment we develop will play a vital role in ensuring our students remain open to new ideas, expand their horizons through their own dreams, talents and personal views, and are equipped with the personal values, key competencies and resilience to help them become life-long learners and effective citizens. Te Ako Ritenga is our learning process to help develop our children into critical thinkers when faced with real world problems.
